October Newsletter
Have the nights started drawing in where you are? Here in Dorset, U.K., the sun is still shining, but the weather services are warning of an El Niño polar vortex looming. That doesn’t bode terribly well, but looking for a silver lining where I can, perhaps we’re heading for weather to stay indoors with a good book, and there, I think I can help.
On the 21st of October, THE DEVIL’S BRIGADE, the first novel in my new WW2 series is published by Boldwood Books. It tells the story of Damien Mahoun and the 1st Special Service Force, a joint Canadian and U.S. commando-style unit, recognised as the forefathers of North American special forces. https://mybook.to/TheDevilsBrigade
Here’s a little YOUTUBE clip of me talking about it. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/nehDCSZ4yVw
To give you a taste of the story, here's a YOUTUBE link to a little promo film I created with my talented daughter. I hope you like it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FeZxnRRdtbU
Of course, with Halloween around the corner, it is an opportunity for me to highlight my ghost story, THE BROOKWOOD BOYS, about WW1 soldier Maurice ‘Mouse’ Forsyth who has haunted Brookwood Cemetery for a hundred years until the day he is first seen by one of the living for the first time. I wrote the story during lockdown and am rather proud of it, although it hasn’t done as well as my other titles. I encourage you to give a go. My Jox McNabb series, now seven books strong, continues to do well and I want to thank you for that. Jox will return in 2027 under the work-in-progress title: THE WHIRLWIND AND THE BRIDGES. For details on all of my books check out www.patricklarsimont.com and https://author.to/PatrickLarsimont
Wishing you a safe and peaceful autumn / fall. Until the next time, thanks for the support and best wishes to all.
